Flying Unicorn Gives Back!

If there is any kindness I can show, any good thing I can do to any fellow human being, let me do it now, and not defer or neglect it, as I shall not pass this way again.

The Anne Carlsen Center is dedicated to “Nurturing abilities. Changing Lives."

Dr. Anne Carlsen, our namesake and former administrator, believed in the worth of every individual. Throughout her life she exemplified strength and nurturing, advocating for individuals with disabilities, and teaching them how to advocate for themselves, while creating a life of independence.

The Anne Carlsen Center offers a rich tradition of educational, residential, therapeutic, evaluation, and community-based services. Our individualized services include care for individuals — and families — of all ages with cerebral palsy; orthopedic, vision and hearing disabilities; autism, pervasive, and other behavior disorders; and other medical acuities.

The Center’s education program provides students with a safe, secure and loving atmosphere in which they can learn and grow. The Center is approved and accredited through the ND Dept of Public Instruction as a K-12 school.

The Student Council consists of a team of Anne Carlsen students dedicated to helping their fellow peers, classmates and friends. Student Council fund raises throughout the year to help students pay for necessities such as clothing, shoes, winter gear, school supplies or other needs they may not have the funds to cover for themselves. Fundraising also provides a yearbook at no cost to each and every student at the Anne Carlsen Center.

Flying Unicorn Fun!!

Happy Halloween!! I have been so busy lately I haven't been able to do much blogging. This is one of the most busiest times of the year for me work wise.

For those who know me, Halloween is my FAVORITE time of year!! I love the costumes, candy, and decorations everywhere! Right now Flying Unicorn is having a sale on all things Halloween in the store!! 20% off from now until October 31st! So in honor of this awesome sale, I'm sharing a few Halloween projects with you all to tempt you! This is a LO I did using Authentique's Enchanted Collection. A fave for sure!

Not only that, but all Petaloo flowers are 40% off as well!!!

Some fun times are also going on in the FORUM.  This month our fabulous CT members are hosting some awesome challenges! Maggi is hosting the ever famous Round Robin Challenge. The RR Challenge is something that everyone looks forward too..it can get pretty hairy around the forums during this time! But it's all in good fun!! I'm on the Yellow Team and here is my lo I did. I chose to use some Teresa Collins papers from the Flying Unicorn Store for my lo. I love TC papers. The quality is amazing..and the colors are so nice. I used Sweet Afternoon which is new and I just ordered some more of it!

Another fun one is Jax's Monster Mash Challenge. You have to use eyelets, green medium, gauze, ribbon or lace, and foil. I used Carta Bella papers from the STORE for this LO. The mini tile mask I used is also from the store and it came in the October kit. Alda has a bunch of new masks in!!

I hope you get some time to scrap this week and be creative! I will be happy when my busy month calms down!!

Happy Scrappin!

October Kit Creations for Flying Unicorn!!

Hey friends!

Denise here to share with you a few creations I did using the new October Kit "A Journey in Time". I LOVE this kit. I love the colors, the way it is so versitile..and the OTP rocks!!

For the first LO I did, I chose the gorgeous G45 and Scrapcake papers to do this one. I started by masking and stamping the bottom piece first. I then used bubble wrap and black paint to make some designs.

I love the flowers and vines that come in the kit! they are a perfect match to these papers!

This next lo is one I did of my now 17 year old step daughter.. She was just a little pumpkin in this picture!!

Again..beautiful flowers and vines that compliment all the papers. I love the Mini Tile mask that comes with the kit as well. I used the pan pastels with it on the background.

This next one if my grandson Bentley!! I just adore this pic of him..he looks very interested in something. I mixed the Prima Craftsman and Kaisercraft Sears and Son papers for this lo. I used the tile mask again and stamped using a prima stamp and white paint for the background. I also did some stitching.

Now for the OTP!! I love this OTP..well anything that has to do with Halloween is for me!!

I started by using the Black Chalkboard paint that comes with it to paint the B. I then covered the other letters with some last years Pink Paislee's Halloween paper. Ifussy cut the clock and little witch from G45 paper and used my Cricut to cut out the Raven..ya he's a little big!

My VERY favorite part of making this OTP was doing the B. I used a Tree Mask from the Flying Unicorn Store with some molding paste for dimension. I then added one of my favorite Halloween sayings using my White Liquid Pen

"When Witches go riding, and black cats are seen, the moon laughs and whispers..Tis Near Halloween!"

Stay tuned all month long for more creations using the new Oct kit from our fabulous Creative Team!!

Thanks for stopping by!! Happy scrappin!
