A Great Match!

I attended my annual work party last night and our theme was the "Roaring 20's"..what a GREAT time!! How fun is it to dress up in period costumes and step back in time! The music, decor, everything was perfect. I knew I would be taking LOTS of pictures to scrap, and I knew right away what paper I'd be using! My favorite pp, Graphic 45!! They'd make a great pair!

I picniked this photo to make it look more vintage and began to scrap. This is what I came up with:

And a few close ups:
I used UTEE to make a few embellies..

Well I've got lots of pictures left to do!! If you're looking for any of the G45 check out the store at Pages in Time.
Till next time...Happy Scrappin!!

Bo Bunny Clearly Mixed Up Flourish Album

I have always wanted to do a clear acrylic album. They really are adorable and you can do so many creative things with them. Before I started I poured over one of our DT Members Blog...Irene Tan (Scrapperlicious). She has the most AMAZING techniques that you can use for acrylic albums. I tried painting with crackle paint and glossy accents..but I must of did something wrong, cause the next day it all fell! Oh well..trial and error I say. It was then I decided to change my direction..and make something for my daughter to have.

I grabbed some really cute Bo Bunny 'Forever Friends' Cardstock Stickers from the Pages in Time Store, and worked from that. The page that was ruined I thought I'd have to throw, but I covered it with some BG Bittersweet pp and began to put my first acrylic album is the result.

Now I'm not gonna lie..this was a tedious project at first, but once I learned what type of glue, rubons went alot smoother!

For any of these products please visit the Store at PIT. Karen can pretty much get anything you need and she's going to be offering all the new products coming out soon! So keep your eyes out for an update here once they arrive at the store.

Thanks for stopping by and till next time..Happy Scrappin!

Explosion Box Challenge

Ok..before  you judge, be aware that this is my first ever attempt to making an Explosion I did this for Alda's (another DT member at Pages in Time) Explosion Box Challenge. The boxes are really cute and I did have fun learning how to make it, tho I did have some trouble with the you will notice in the pictures. I used Graphic 45 Communique pp for the whole thing. I may add some lace or other goodies after I add the pictures. I am waiting for our Staff party at my work to take pics. Our theme is a Roaring Twenties/Speakeasy theme and the pics will be PERFECT for this box.

Ok here is the box as a whole:

These next photos are the layers and a few close ups. This is where you'll see the mishaps of the edges..have to work on that. If you have any tips about that..please leave them for me!!

For directions on how to make your own Explosion Box, please visit us at Pages in Time and visit Aldas' Anything but a LO Challenge!

Products used were just G45 Communique pp and Tim Holtz Distress inks in Black Soot, Vintage Photo and Fired Brick.

Thanks for stopping by and till next time...Happy Scrappin!

Getting Creative

I am big follower of Sally Lynn MacDonald. I love her techniques she shares! The other day on her blog, she was talking about being inspired...finding your muse...friends losing loved ones.. and from what I got from it...using all of this to be creative...she called it Creative Therapy. Well..that hits home with me since I'm so into Recreational Therapy..whether it be thru arts and crafts, music, or just fun games. So last night, I thought ok..break out from the norm Denise and do something you've never done. I started brainstorming, going through my old stuff and found an old wooden frame. (Ah..another idea I saw from  her on the Prima blog) So I took out the frame and stared at it for awhile. I thought about the people she talked about losing loved ones  and how it's hard to have faith through times like that. So I brainstormed a bit more..thinking once my new scraproom is done, I'll need stuff to hang on the here's what I made.. A Shabby Chic wallhanging.

I painted it with Tim Holtz Picket Fence Crackle Paint, let dry and sprayed it with SWAK Tattered Angels Mist. The rest is just thrown together really...LOL! I embossed a piece of white pp, and sprayed that too with SWAK and used the technique Alda shared with us at The Technique Tuesday Group at PIT to make the faith wording. Prima bling and flowers and I did make the flower on the bottom left from the Handmade Flower Tutorial found at PIT.

I hope when you feel the need to just step out of your comfort zone and be creative, you'll do just that!!

Watch for a blog giveaway soon!! Till next time...Happy Scrappin!!

There were so many wonderful submissions to all the challenges! Please check out the Gallery at PIT to check them out!

This one was for Maggi's Faces I Love Challenge. I used Prima pp, and flowers for this..Quilled one of the flowers. Inked edges with Broken China ink, and made the little picket fence.

This one I did for Amy's Make your own flourish challenge. I got the background idea from one of the blogs I follow Bodils Scrappeverden. Jennifer's right..this blog is full of inspiration!

This next one is for Ann's Layers of Love Challenge: Using the yummy On the Boardwalk pp from G45!

For Barbara's Make your own embellishment challenge: Used BG Infuse and cut out all the floral..

For Jennifer's Altered Project Challenge: I altered this shadowbox to hold an autographed cd insert from one of my fave bands.. Casting Crowns.

I am so glad the crop was so much fun for everyone! I can't wait till the next one!
